This award recognises an outstanding Facilities Management project delivered within the transport or infrastructure sector in the UK over the past 12 months. Eligible environments may include airports, rail networks, bus terminals, highway facilities, ports, or other critical infrastructure assets. The project may relate to any Facilities Management discipline or service, and submissions are open to any organisation or individual who played a leading role. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Project Background: Provide a summary of the project, including objectives, scope, timescales, project value, and key stakeholders involved.
  • Planning and Execution: Explain why the project was commissioned and the strategy used to deliver it within a safety-critical and operationally sensitive environment. Highlight approaches to resilience, compliance, sustainability, and minimising disruption. Confirm whether the project was delivered on time and within budget.
  • Innovation: Detail any innovations introduced, including technology, processes, or methodologies that improved performance, safety, reliability, or user experience.
  • Challenges: Describe the key challenges faced, such as live operations, regulatory constraints, or complex stakeholder environments, and how these were successfully addressed.
  • Project Excellence: Explain why this project deserves recognition, focusing on outcomes, efficiencies gained, risk reduction, or improvements to infrastructure performance.
  • Supporting Facts and Statements: Provide supporting evidence such as performance data, KPIs, or stakeholder feedback.
